Looking ahead to 2020

This is one of the first winters as farmers that we've had more on our minds that planning for next seasons crops. Its also one of the first years that we've had a serious deadline to get that planning done. With our baby due the third week of January we are very aware of the impending time crunch ahead. Normally we plan for a couple weeks of down time, seeing friends and catching up on tv shows. This year we have already started the process of studying seed catalogs for new varieties to try with lessons from the season guiding our selections. We also are going to be working on updating our application for organic certification. Last year we submitted our organic plan to show that we were organic compliant. This year when we have our in person inspection this spring we already have a history showing our organic practices. We are very much looking forward to the new year and all the exciting new things happening in our family & farm for 2020!
